5/27 Shadows to Make Your Eye Color POP!

Posted on May 27, 2010 at 12:23 PM Comments comments (0)

I was at Walmart this weekend buying liquid eyeliner and false eyelashes for a 1960’s Cher costume, and I came across these amazing eye shadow palettes that I just have to tell you about!

They are made by Physician’s Formula (which I love!) and they’re called “Shimmer Strips, Pop. custom eye enhancing shadow and liner” (for brown, blue, green, or hazel eyes) and they cost less than $10. I picked up the brown eye palette, mainly because it had a shimmery white shadow, which was a must have for my roommate’s go-go dancer costume, but when I saw the beautiful colors, I just HAD to have it.

This is not your every-day eye-color enhancing palette. This has 9 great colors to choose from, instead of the usual 3 you see in one of these. You can mix and match the shades to come up with great combinations, AND it includes darker shades that can be used as a contour color in the crease of your eye OR as a powdered liner, OR even better, BOTH!

I was pretty excited about one color in particular; it’s a marigold-like yellow that really jumped out at me. I knew it would be good, but I was still pleasantly surprised when I wore it. It made all the gold specs in my brown eyes really pop, and it’s SUCH a lovely color!

There’s also a gorgeous gunmetal-slate-purple in there that I absolutely love, especially as an accent with the gold. The contrast between the vivid gold and the not-quite-sure-what-color-it-is purple is really beautiful!

The brown eye palette also has the traditional purples and a cocoa brown liner that is to-die-for!

The green eye palette contains beautiful aqua, turquoise, and gold shades that are a nice break from the predictable earth tones most green-eyed girls are forced to stick to. Of course, there’s also a lovely purple to make those rare emeralds demand the attention they deserve!

The blue eye palette has the usual browns, as they are the absolute best way to make your baby blues stand out, but they are mixed in with some very pretty blues and some unusual tan/gold tones to warm up the usually cool complexions of most blue eyed beauties.

The Hazel eye palette is full of lovely peachy-purples, browns, and golds to make those gray peepers pop. I’m especially impressed with the beautiful warm tones of the hazel palette, as most people would mistakenly put cool colors on hazel eyes.

Not only are the colors stunning, but the quality of the shadow is great. They are powdered shadows, but they have a great creamy texture that allows them to glide on easily and blend beautifully! They come with a firm sponge applicator that is perfect for applying powered liner and contouring. I suggest using a small bristle brush to apply your highlight and base colors, as this will allow for seamless blending.

These eye palettes are a great way to play with color, while still ensuring that the colors you’re using work for you. I think a lot of women don’t know where to start when choosing a new look, so they get stuck in a neutral rut. This is a safe way to try something new!

5/26 Get BIG Lashes!

Posted on May 26, 2010 at 1:39 PM Comments comments (0)

OK ladies…

As you may or may not know, I’m a complete eye-lash junkie. I am forever on the lookout for amazing lengthening and volumizing mascaras, especially since I can’t find my old go-to “Lash Architect” in stores anymore.

I’ve written about my recent fav, L’oreal “Volume Shocking” mascara with the lash building primer and separating applicator, which lengthens and separates my lashes pretty significantly, but it does not thicken and darken the individual lashes as much as I would like. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of this one, and will probably keep it in my make-up bag for daytime lashes, as it gives me beautifully separated, plump, natural-looking fringe, but I need something a little more dramatic for evening.

I have been on the lookout for something comparable to my “Lash Architect” in the “Big Lashes” department. I like BIG dramatic lashes, and I haven’t been able to find anything that gave me the drama I was looking for…until now, that is.

I’ve found a new night-time favorite, and I’m SO excited to share it with you guys! Rimmel’s “Glam Eyes Lash Flirt” gives incredible length, just like my trusty volume shocking, but this one adds voluptuous volume as well!

I’m so psyched!

One coat of this is day-time appropriate, adding length and subtle volume. Two coats will seriously pump your lashes up, and three coats gives you those “Look at me Lashes” I‘ve been longing for!

Before After

If you’re into long, full, can’t-tell-if they’re-real-or-fake, can-see-them-from-across-the-room lashes, like I am, this is a definite must have, and at $7 in the drug store... It’s a real bargain too!

5/18 Prevent Makeup Melt down

Posted on May 18, 2010 at 3:07 PM Comments comments (0)

As much as we all love the warm balmy weather of summer, it presents a few challenges in the make-up department!

Make-up melt is by far my least favorite part of summer. You spend all that time and energy to apply make-up and by the time you get where you’re going your eye shadow has melted into a single line of goo in the crease of your eye, you’ve wiped away most of your bronzer with those little beads of sweat that form on your nose, and your face is shining almost as brightly as the sun….what a waste!

I’m going to give you a few tricks to keep your summer-time makeup in-tact and looking fresh.

1. First you need to establish a solid base. Instead of heavy foundation that will feel greasy when you start to sweat, try a tinted moisturizer. This will look and feel lighter and won’t melt away. Most cosmetic brands carry a tinted moisturizer, so you can stick with the same brand you’re already comfortable with.

Another option, for those of you who need some extra coverage, would be to use a face primer either in place of foundation or under your foundation. Face Primers are designed to minimize pores and even out complexion as well as act as a base for the rest of your make-up.

Try Sally Hanson “Luminizing Face Primer”

2. The best way to keep your eye makeup in place is with an eye shadow base. These usually come in fleshy colors that can be worn alone for a natural stay-put look or under shadow for a crease-free smokey eye.

Try one of these Bethany tested and approved eye shadow bases:

- Ultima II’s “Fade Not, Crease Not” (CVS, J.C.Penny’s or drugstore.com)

- L’Oreal’s “De-Crease” (anywhere L’Oreal products are sold.)

Apply one of these bases for worry-free, crease-free all-day-and-into-the-night shadow! Use a Q–tip to apply a little bit of the base directly under your lower lash line for smudge-free eyeliner!

3. Try a light cream bronzer.

My favorite cream bronzer is Clinique “Up Lighting” in bronze (I have a fairly dark skin tone and this is the perfect shade for me, but it comes in 3 or 4 different shades.).

4. Finish it all off with some translucent powder. Translucent powder will set your look and absorb excess moisture, but if it smears or smudges it doesn’t matter because it’s translucent. Carry this with you for “touch-ups” during the day. Anytime you start to feel greasy or shiny, just dust a little powder on, and you’ll look and feel as good as new!

The best way to avoid smearing your make-up is to keep your hands off of your face, but I know as well as anyone, that it’s just not as easy as it sounds!

5/3 Smudge-Proof Eyeliner

Posted on May 3, 2010 at 12:27 PM Comments comments (1)

Here’s a question from one of my readers:

“I spend time every morning putting eyeliner on and by the time I get to work (10 minute drive) it’s smeared all over my face. My eyes do water, but I can’t be the only person who has this problem? Do you know of any smudge-proof eyeliners that actually work?”

You have definitely come to the right place, because I am an eyeliner junkie!

This is a BIG problem for a lot of people. If you google this topic, you will find that there are literally hundreds of women looking for the answer to this question. Fortunately, you have me to sift through all the product suggestions and reviews so you can get right to the good stuff!

I have tried every drug store brand out there, and quite a few of the higher end brands as well, and my pencil of choice is:

“Covergirl” Perfect Point Plus.

- This is a “crayon” type eyeliner, that self sharpens. It goes on smooth, has a great deep color, and stays put all day!

- It only costs a few dollars, and you can get it just about anywhere, but I have sworn by this brand for years now! It holds up through winter watery eyes, itchy, runny allergy eyes, and even summer humidity.

- Although this is not a “water proof” eyeliner it definitely does the trick for me. Sometimes, when I’m too lazy to wash my face after a night out (I know, I know, shame on me!), it will still be in place when I wake up in the morning.

- I am a very oil-dry person, so if your skin is on the oily side, this may or may not work for you.

When I received this question, I did a little research, and found many positive reviews for “Make Up For Ever” Aqua Eyes Eyeliner. I have not personally tried this, but I’ve heard nothing but good things about it.

“Make Up For Ever” Aqua Eyes Eyeliner

- This is a 2-in-1 shadow/liner pencil. It has a soft texture, which makes it glide on smooth, and comes in a variety of colors. The only negative thing I’ve heard is that it is difficult to sharpen. When you purchase it, ask the salesperson to help you find a sharpener that will work well, and spend those few extra dollars to ensure you get the most use out of it as possible, as it’s a little on the pricey side.

- It costs $16 and is available at Sephora. Some of the reviews claim that you can even swim and work-out in it, and it doesn’t budge!

- After reading the great reviews, I’ll be purchasing this one for summer. An eyeliner you can swim in sounds like a dream come true to me!

I hope this helps!

4/23 Perk-Up Your Face in 5 Minutes

Posted on April 23, 2010 at 2:50 PM Comments comments (0)

Here’s a question from one of my readers:

“I am a 25-year-old mom who doesn’t have much time to get ready in the mornings. I always look so tired, which I think makes me look older than I am. Do you have any quick (I only have about 5 -10 minutes to spend) and simple make-up tricks to make me look more awake without looking overdone?”

Of course I do!

Here are the steps to a 5-minute perky face:

1. Start with a tinted moisturizer with SPF.

- this saves you time because you don’t have to apply moisturizer, sun screen, AND foundation. It has all 3 steps in one.

2. Sweep a very light shimmering shadow along your brow bone, the inside corner of your eye, and right above your cheek bones.

- the highlighter in the corner of your eyes really helps to make them appear more open and alert.

- You can add a soft pink, gold, or brown (or any neutral color) eyeshadow on your lower lids if you want.

3. Apply one coat of lengthening mascara.

4. Brush a bright color of blush just on the apples of you cheeks.

- the brighter the better. Choose a pink if you are cool toned (you have more pink or red in your skin) and peach if you are warm toned (you have more gold in your skin). The brightness will give you a youthful natural-looking flush.

5. Curl your lashes with an eyelash curler, and apply a second coat of mascara

- long curled eyelashes will instantly make your eyes appear more open.

6. Apply sheer lip gloss

- bright pinks and peaches are very popular this season.

This is the perfect 5-minute face for daytime, and the best part is you can some smokey eye shadow and liner to make it evening-appropriate.

4/12 Fresh Make-up Looks for Spring 2010

Posted on April 12, 2010 at 11:10 AM Comments comments (1)

Spring often gets lost in the shuffle when it comes to make-up and clothing trends. We are all in such a rush to get to summer, that we go from sweaters and winter berry lips to tank tops and bronzer, skipping over the beautiful spring looks in the meantime.

The fresh faced look of spring is one that flatters almost every skin tone, whether you're warm or cool...there's a glowing spring look out there for you!

This spring, it's all about pretty pinks and peaches. Anyone with cool skin tones (you tend to pull red, blue, or pink) should go with pinks, and those of you with warm skin tones (you have gold, brown, or yellow tones) should go with the peaches, using gold accents. Don't be afraid to choose bright colors, especially for blush and sheer lip gloss. These looks are very popular this year.

Remember: go easy on the amount of make-up you're using. Spring Make-up should be light and fresh.

For Cool Girls:

- Apply base (sunscreen, concealer, foundation, powder etc...) as usual. If you use a thick foundation in the winter, you may want to choose something lighter for spring.

Eyes:

- Choose a shimmery highlight color. This could be silver, pale pink, champagne, or even a sheer shimmer, and brush it along the top of your eyelid, just under the eye brow, in the inside corner of your eye, and along the top of your cheekbones.

- Now choose a medium-bright shade of pink shadow. Sweep this shade along the lower eyelid and just above the crease of the eye.

- If you want, you can choose a darker color of pink to use as a contour color in the crease of your eye, but this is not necessary.

- Apply lots of Mascara

Cheeks:

- Apply a powdered bronzer very lightly on the areas where the sun naturally kisses your face (along cheekbones, forehead, nose, and chin).

HINT: To thin out a fuller or round face, apply bronzer just below your natural cheekbones.

- Now choose a bright shade of pink blush, the brighter, the better this year! Apply the pink blush just to the apples of your cheeks. To find the apples of your cheeks, smile, the fleshy part is the apple.

Lips:

- Choose a sheer lipgloss with a bright pink color.

For Warm Girls:

- Apply base (sunscreen, concealer, foundation, powder etc...) as usual. If you use a thick foundation in the winter, you may want to choose something lighter for spring.

Eyes:

- Choose a shimmery highlight color. This could be gold, champagne, or even a sheer shimmer, and brush it along the top of your eyelid, just under the eye brow, in the inside corner of your eye, and along the top of your cheekbones.

- Now choose a medium-bright shade of peach shadow. Sweep this shade along the lower eyelid and just above the crease of the eye.

- If you want, you can choose a darker color of peach or even a brown to use as a contour color in the crease of your eye, but this is not necessary.

- Now choose a bright shade of peach blush (mauve works well on darker skin tones), the brighter, the better this year! Apply the peach/mauve blush in a circular motion, just to the apples of your cheeks. To find the apples of your cheeks, smile, the fleshy part is the apple.

Lips:

- Choose a sheer lipgloss with a bright peach color.

This is a way to add bright colors to your face while maintaining a fresh, natural look. Combining the bronzer, brightly colored blush, and shimmering highlight to your cheeks, provides a beautiful sun-kissed glow. Although the colors you're using may be bright, they are in your natural color palette, which is what keeps the look natural.

If this is a look you like, you can carry this well into summer, and then by altering the shades slightly, into fall as well.

3/25 Applying false lashes

Posted on March 24, 2010 at 2:18 PM Comments comments (138)

Here's a question from one of my readers:

"I love the look of long full eyelashes, but mine are short, fine, and stick straight. No matter how much mascara I use, I'm never happy with them. I have a friend who gets lash extensions, and they look great, but she has to go in and pay them to touch them up every 2 weeks. Do you have any tricks for applying your own false lashes? I've tried them, but they always look so fake when I do it myself."

False lashes can be tricky. It takes practice and LOTS of patience to get them right, and knowing the correct techniques don't hurt, so follow these steps:

1. Choose your lashes: False Lashes come in 3 different styles:

- Strip (One piece that covers entire eyelid)

- Knots or flares (these are a few lashes knotted or glued together at the bottom that are attached between natural lashes)

- Individuals (single hairs that need to be attached to each lash separately)

The most natural looking false lashes are the individuals, as long as they’re applied correctly, but the application can be difficult. Strip lashes are the easiest to apply, and they work well for Halloween or a dramatic evening look, but they’re a bit much for daytime.

I recommend using the flares for the most natural–looking false lash application. False lashes can be purchased in any drug store, and usually come with adhesive. I like the dark colored adhesive, as it added even more volume to your lashline. When selecting the right lashes for you, choose ones that are close the color of your natural lashes. Most brands come in short, medium, and long lengths, but the short ones are plenty long enough for most people.

2. Make sure lashes are CLEAN and DRY when you start your application. Hold the flares up to your eye. If they seem too long, trim them using manicure scissors.

3. Sweeze a small amount of adhesive onto a paper plate. Pick up one flare, using tweezers, holding it by the open end of the lashes. Drag the knotted end of the flare through the adhesive, there should be a small ball of adhesive on the end of the lash, and you will want to wait about 30 seconds or so before applying the lash so that adhesive has begun to dry.

4. Starting at the outside corner of your closed eye, lay the flare on or between your natural lashes, as close to the lashline as you can get without touching the skin. Make sure you get it down in amongst your lashes. You don’t want to just lay it on top. The adhesive is designed to stick to your lashes, not your skin, If you glue the false lashes to your skin, the oil your skin produces will cause them to fall off much sooner than if you glue them directly to your lashes. You will have some time to move the flare around before it is completely adhered, so open your eye and adjust the flare until it looks right. Repeat this process until you have the desired fullness on one eye. The first 3 – 4 flares your apply will be all the same length, but as you get closer to the inside corner of your eye, you will want to trim them slightly, so that they look as natural as possible.

5. Now repeat steps 2 – 4 on the other eye. When applied correctly, flares will last 1.5 - 2 weeks (depending on the oiliness of your skin and hair)

6. You may think you want very long lashes, but once they’re on, you think they look a little extreme. If this happens, you can trim the lashes once they’re on your eye, but you’ll want to be sure to use curves manicure scissors and you’ll need to be VERY CAREFUL!

To Touch lashes up:

Simply apply another flare in place of one that has fallen off.

If you decide to use strip lashes:

Apply adhesive in a thin layer to strip, allow to dry for 30 seconds, close your eye, pick lashes up using tweezers, and lay on top of lashes as close to lashline as possible.(make sure not to get adhesive on skin), allow to dry another 30 seconds while pressing into lashes (open eye, place a finger on either corner of eye, and press), adjust if necessary, and repeat on your other eye.

For daytime wear, there is no need to wear mascara, and for evening a small amount is all you need. The more you touch the lashes, the quicker they will fall off, so avoid applying make-up which will then have to be removed.

To remove lashes: Rub with eye-make-up remover or baby oil until adhesive breaks down. The lashes should just slide off. DO NOT pull false lashes off…it WILL pull your natural lashes out.

3/19 5 Steps To Dramatic Sexy Eyes

Posted on March 19, 2010 at 12:21 PM Comments comments (0)

Here’s a question from one of my readers:

“I love dramatic eye make-up for going out at night, but I can never get it to look right. My eyes always end up looking smaller. Do you have any suggestions on what I’m doing wrong?”

Anyone who knows me, knows I’m a serious eyeliner junky! I’ve been wearing heavy black eyeliner since about 8th grade, so you’ve definitely come to the right place!

I’m a huge fan of the dramatic sexy smokey eye a la Kim Kardashian (although I was doing it long before I ever heard of her). I love to wear dark eyeliner that not only accentuates your eyes, but also exaggerates them, but you have to have the right technique and products, or you’ll end up looking like a smudgy squinty mess.

In beauty school for Esthetics the first thing they teach you is never to line your eye to the inside corner, and to keep the line as close to your natural lash line as possible without going into the membrane-like portion of your eyelid. I agree with these rules for daytime. But for evening…toss them out the window!

First choose the right eyeliner.

There are so many choices when it comes to eyeliner, but the 4 basics are:

- pencil

- crayon

- Liquid

- Powder

Powder eyeliners (that you apply with a brush) are great for a soft smudgy daytime look, but for evening I use crayon. It’s softer than a pencil so it goes on smoother, darker, and with less pressure, but it doesn’t create as harsh of a line as liquid, which I pretty much only use for costume make-up.

My favorite eyeliner is “Cover Girl Perfect Point Plus” in black onyx. I’ve tried almost every brand out there, and this is definitely my favorite. Try it, but if it doesn’t work for you, try another brand. What works best for me, may not work best for you.

Now that you’ve selected your eyeliner, you will want to select 3 eye shadow shades.: A light, almost sheer highlighter (preferably with some shimmer), a medium shade, and a dark contour shade. Color is really in this season, so try to use blues, purples and greens instead of the predictable grays and browns.

Here is my 5 step dramatic eye routine. It has been developed by personal experience, and I hope it works for you!

After applying your regular moisturizer, concealer (if necessary), foundation and/or power:

1. Apply your highlight shade from the crease of your eye up to the your eyebrow. Then sweep the highlighter down along the inside corner of your eye and under your eye in the natural crease made by your nose. This will lighten this entire area, making your eyes appear brighter and more open

2. Now apply your medium shade from your upper lash line to the crease of your eye (recently, I have been using a deep mauve color, which looks really great with purple)

3. Now apply the dark contour color just in the crease of your eye starting with a fine line near the inside corner, expanding to a thicker line at the outside corner. Extend this slightly beyond the outside corner of your eye.

4. Now apply one coat of mascara. Yes…that’s right apply your mascara BEFORE your eyeliner. You want to make sure the mascara is dry before you start applying eyeliner. I usually put the rest of my make-up on at this point (cheeks and lips) to give it some time to dry

5. Once the mascara is dry, you can begin to apply eyeliner. Start on the bottom lashline at the inside corner. You will notice that because you applied your mascara first, you are not able to get as close to the lashline. This is the point. Leaving that small amount of space will make your eyes appear much larger. The eyeliner should be thinner at the inside corner and thicker at the outside corner. You will want to extend the eyeliner slightly beyond the outside corner of your eye as well. Now repeat this process on the top lashline. Once you have lined your eye on top and bottom, bring the lines together at the outside and inside corners. Don’t be afraid to make the lines thick around the outside of the eye. I realize this is breaking all of the regular make-up rules, but this is not a natural look, this is a dramatic look.

Finish with another coat (or two) of mascara. Dark, thick eyelashes are another big part of this look.

Now put on that slinky dress and go out for a night on the town!

3/11 Make your own Lip Gloss

Posted on March 11, 2010 at 1:05 PM Comments comments (53)

As promised yesterday, I’m going to teach you how to make your own lip gloss.

It’s really very simple, and little girls go crazy for it! I make lip gloss with the girls as favors for my princess and rockstar parties, and it’s always a hit!

If you look online there are a ton of recipes that require all kinds of different waxes and essential oils, but I’ve found that Crisco Shortening works best as a base for lip gloss.

It melts well, hardens to the perfect consistency, and has great shine. Not to mention, it’s cheap and easy! I’ve tried using petroleum jelly, but it doesn’t melt well, which means the ingredients don’t always mix well, and it’s difficult to transfer to the containers. Also, petroleum jelly's consistency is a little too goopy.

First, you need to decide what color and or flavor of gloss you want.

If you want colored gloss without flavor:

Take one tablespoon Crisco shortening, melted in the microwave, and add food coloring for desired color, and pour into lip gloss container. Once this mixture has cooled, it’s ready to use.

I’ve never tried this, but I’ve heard that adding crayon shavings to the Crisco makes a good waxy balm as opposed to a softer gloss.

* add a squirt of honey to the mixture before melting, for scent and flavor*

If you want a brown colored gloss that tastes like chocolate:

Add 5-10 chocolate chips to your 1 Tablespoon Crisco, (the more you add, the darker it will be) melt in microwave for about 20 seconds and stir. If the ingredients are not melted, microwave for an additional 10 seconds. Once ingredients are melted, mix well, pour into lip gloss container, and cool.

For a brightly colored, fruity flavored lip gloss:

Take 1 teaspoon Koolaid powdered drink mix (sugar already added), add 2-3 drops water and mix until all powder has been moistened. Now add this mixture to 1 Tablespoon of melted Crisco, and stir together. Pour into lip gloss container, cool, and enjoy! (for a deeper color, use more Koolaid, for a lighter, more sheer look, use less)

***You can add cake glitter to any of the above items for a little sparkle.***

These glosses are great for daytime, since they add subtle color and shine and will moisten and condition your lips while you're wearing them. They are also great for wearing over your favorite lipstick for an evening out.

The best lip gloss containers I’ve found are small, round, clear seed bead containers with screw on lids. They can be purchased in packages of 3, 6, 12 ,or 24 at Pat Catans craft store or the craft department at walmart for less than $.50 a piece.

Have fun mixing up your concoctions!

3/8 Make-Up Removing Home Remedies

Posted on March 8, 2010 at 9:59 AM Comments comments (0)

Here’s a question from one of my readers:

“I wash my face with soap and I always have eyeliner residue on my eyes afterwards and it looks like I have bags under my eyes. I don't want to spend millions of dollars for eye make up remover. What's a cheap-o way to get rid of that?”

This is a great question!

I’m glad you’re washing your make-up off before bed, but try a water-based cleanser instead of soap. It will help to maintain the correct PH balance on the surface of your skin. Neutrogena has a decent one that won’t cost much more than your average hand soap.

Part of your problem could be that the skin around your eyes is dehydrated. Dehydrated skin will grab those nasty make-up remnants and hold on for dear life! Make sure to moisturize your skin twice a day (once after washing your make-up off at night, and once before putting it on in the morning). Soft supple skin will not only be easier to remove make-up from, but also to apply make-up to.

Eye-makeup removers are often expensive, and if you’ve ever gotten some in your eye, you know they’re full of chemicals! The active ingredient in all make-up remover is oil. Below, I’ve listed a few ways to remove your make-up using everyday products from the drug store.

Please remember, no matter what you’re using to remove your make-up, go easy on that delicate skin around your eyes. Too much rubbing or pulling can cause pre-mature wrinkles.

Here are some simple everyday products you can use to remove your dark eye make-up

- baby oil (saturate a cotton ball and gently wipe make up away.)

- Vaseline (apply a small amount to eye with fingers, and wipe away with a tissue or cotton ball)

- Baby wipes (These come least recommended, as they may contain alcohol, which can dry your skin)

- If none of these work try the following concoction, it’s supposed to be fool-proof:

3 Tablespoons Light olive oil

3 Tablespoons Castor Oil (can be found in any drugstore)

3 Tablespoons Canola Oil (Mix well, apply to cotton ball and gently wipe make-up away)

*if some makeup remains on the skin after removing, apply some oil/vaseline to a cotton swab and gently wipe away. This will help reduce rubbing and irritation*

Always wash face with normal cleanser after using any removing product (even the professional stuff) as they all contain oils that can clog your pores if left on the surface of your skin.
