3/15 Nail Whitening Home Remedies

Posted on March 15, 2010 at 12:14 PM

Here’s a question from one of my readers:

“I am a nail polish addict, and as a result of my constant polishing, my nails look yellow. What can I do to make them white again?”

Your nails are stained from the pigment in the polishes you use.

There are a few things you can do to revive your dingy nails.

1. Apply a liberal amount of Whitening Toothpaste to nails, and scrub with a nail brush for a few minutes each day. You should see results within a week or so.

2. Mix baking soda with a small amount of vinegar. This will make a foam. Soak nails in this mixture for 15 minutes, and then scrub with a nail brush.

3. Soak nail in the juice of 1 lemon. This is probably the most concentrated and effective treatment, but if you have any cuts or Hangnails I don’t recommend it, because it will burn like crazy!

All of these treatments will work on toe nails as well.

Once you have gotten your nails back to their desired shade…Make sure to ALWAYS use a base coat under any colored polish you use.
